Commissioned through 91+9 Agency on behalf of the Los Angeles Sparks for their 30th season celebration, I developed a series of varsity jackets for a commemorative game at Crypto.com Arena honoring the franchise's history and legends.
The palette stayed rooted in the Sparks' purple, gold, and teal, while each concept approached the anniversary from a different angle. The first two leaned into classic varsity tradition. The third pulled from the geometric color blocking of 90s sportswear, with the bold paneling and contrasting sections that defined the Starter jackets and NBA apparel of the era when the Sparks were founded. For a 30th anniversary celebrating the team's origins, it felt right to draw from the visual language of that exact moment.
The project was ultimately awarded to designer Jeff Hamilton before production, so the jackets never made it to fabric. The work was developed to the same standard as a production piece, from concept through final design.
